Happy New Year!

We made it through 2021! The Conway Springs City Library was very busy in 2021. We checked out 1,775 books and audio books. And that is being closed to the public 6 months of the year. We were doing curbside and home delivery during that time. We served 996 patrons. And even though our Summer Reading Program was online, we served over 90 children at 14 events.

The biggest news of the year is that the Library became automated! We now check out books with a scanner  instead of manually. Each patron has a number assigned to their name. With that number, you can access our entire collection of books, make reserves on a title, find out the books checked out in your account, and much more! In order to receive emails from the Library, you will need to enter your email on your account page. To access the online catalog page, go to https://conwaysprings.biblionix.com/catalog/. To log in, put your library number in the top box (card number), and your phone number or password you create in the bottom box. The online catalog features all of our books in the Library (nearly 11,000), as well as the newest books we have added. You can also find out which books are the most popular. You can even search the databases of libraries in our area! In case we don’t have a book, they might!

We are continually updating our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/conwayspringscitylibrary); our website (https://conwaysprings.scklslibrary.info/); and the online catalog (https://conwaysprings.biblionix.com/catalog/) in an effort to be more visible to the public.

During 2021, we received hundreds of books in donations. These are either added to our collection, or put in the storage room for the book sale. In donations, memorials, and purchases, we added over 500 books to the Library. We have worked at expanding our adult Fiction, Nonfiction, Mystery, Inspirational, Cozy Mystery and Westerns. We have concentrated on adding books to our Beginning Reader collection. These are mostly board books for little hands. We also receive 700 books and audio books every year in a rotating collection. These are Western, Mysteries, Romance, Inspiration, and Fiction books. The audio books are Fiction, Mystery, Western and Biographies.

Our hours continue to be:

Tuesday: 10:00am to 1:00pm

Wednesday: 10:00am to 1:00pm and 2:30pm to 6:00pm

Friday: 10:00am to 1:00pm
