August & September Events at the Library
Here we are in August already! Teachers, parents and students are getting ready for the new school year. Each day brings more excitement in the air as we approach the first day of school!
August will be pretty routine at the Library with normal hours for the most part. Cardinal Kids Story Time at the Library will continue to be on Friday’s at 10:30 a.m. And we will be working to get books back from those checked out over the summer so they don’t get lost in the shuffle between summer and fall. But, don’t forget to come in after school on Wednesdays because this Librarian is going to miss the hustle and bustle of the youngest generation!
September brings a new program, our first Homeschooling Resource Fair, on Wednesday, September 13 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon. All homeschool families in the area are invited! There will be prizes, co-op information, 4-H information, community information, and lots more! The big prize drawing will be for a Picasso Tiles 100 Pc. Marble Run Building Block set! We want to celebrate you and give you a few resources the community can offer to you. (This program is funded in part by the South Central Kansas Library System. SCKLS serves 144 participating public libraries, school districts, academic libraries and special libraries in 12 counties. The mission of the South Central Kansas Library System is to assist member libraries to provide excellent service to their communities).
And then, Saturday, September 23 is Fall Fest with our Annual Used Book Sale in the City Building from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
